hi Boris,
I have installed the (new) FILES application but I get the msg as per the subject. What do I need to do to make it work properly? Note: I use the admin user as credentials.
Thx in advance

Do you not see device on the left side?
yes, and I can read the contents of the system disk while the βfilesβ looks empty but the app can read the capacity (3.6 TB). Look at the picture below:
Files is for files added to files app itself.
Device is you device files.
Iβm old app you would only see device files.
New app allows you to upload files to the app specific area on /data/files which you can see under Files (probably should have been called data).
This is new concept for this app so it is empty untill you upload anything there.
In general it is just a viewer of you file system but you cannot change system files as it may break the device and it would mean we need to use admin permissions to run the app which is dangerous, but previous version of the app actually did it, where confusion may come as we are changing what users may have gotten used to.
