Where to start - Syncloud Noob and RPi4

Hi… Hi… Hi…

Is that an echo… echo… echo… ?

Well, a first posting. Someone had to do it!

I am completely new to learning about Syncloud and not a Linux user. I would like to set up a personal cloud for home and personal work; in addition, I would like to have the main Syncloud setup cloned off site.

I have previously setup NextCloud on a Rock64; now, I am thinking of purchasing the parts for running Syncloud on a Raspberry Pi 4. For two users and running Syncloud (Nextcloud, Syncthing) is a RPi4 2gb enough ram? Ideally, I would like to see the Syncloud also running as a Time Machine backup (we’re Mac users) and media server.

This can be done with Syncthing, with one or two Syncloud devices.

Should be enough, but if not you can always buy a better one, RPi is not very expensive.

Not sure how Time Machine works, can you setup a file copy job? What makes device a Time Machine backup?

media server

We do not really have a media server yet, there are few requests:
