Hi Boris,

I’ve been reading into Thread and Matter and I found out that due to the way HA is installed, its not possible for the end user to add the Matter Server and Open Thread Boarder Router to the Server:

So essentially my question is: would it be possible to add thread border router and matter controller capabilities to our home-assistant?

For Matter integration do you plan to use HA companion app on your phone or you want Syncloud device to pair devices (requires Bluetooth)? This is just a setup phase and later it works over local network.

For Thread boarder router do you want Syncloud to become one (requires usb dongle) or you already have them as separate devices?

Matter: HA Companion app makes more sense in my setup. Maybe other people want to do it locally on the server though, so if it’s easy to include the feature as an option…

Thread: planning to use a sonoff dongle on the syncloud host.
If you used another thread border router you could just configure it with the HA thread integration, no syncloud app required.

Hi,

matter Integration added the now built in controller just fine, thread doesn’t seem to work though. How can I configure the dongle before adding it to the thread integration?

And maybe the thread border router not being configured leads to the integration throwing the error of not being able to connect to the otbr rest api

also the otbr service shows up as enabled, inactive when I do snap info home-assistant.
