# Home Assistant - Matter

Hi Boris,
I’ve been reading into Thread and Matter and I found out that due to the way HA is installed, its not possible for the end user to add the Matter Server and Open Thread Boarder Router to the Server:

So essentially my question is: would it be possible to add thread border router and matter controller capabilities to our home-assistant?

After some more research this is what I thing we’d need, could both be packaged as separate apps:
